Kid got rejected from Cornell. Excellent private school that sends 40% of kids to top 30 schools. They are top 30% of class. SAT of 1550. Humanities major. Any ideas on strategy for ED2? Going forward? TIA. Please be nice.
I would not rush or knee-jerk to an ED. It's normal to feel scattered and anxious after being a strong student who is rejected in ED. Your DC gave it their best shot and now will not have any regrets about "what if" with respect to Cornell and ED. What are your DC's other favorite choices? What subject in humanities is of most interest? Emory has a terrific creative writing program. Barnard could be a strong choice if DC is female. WashU loves strong private school students like your DC, as does Middlebury. Good luck OP!
