Just take your pet into the new vet within a few days of getting the pet. Wherever the pet came from, you will want to be sure it's healthy. This will also serve to introduce the new vet to your new pet, and now the vet will have a file on your pet in case there's an emergency, to establish baseline weight, and things like that. You could probably call the vet a few days or a week before you pick up the pet to schedule the appt. [/quote]
