What is this word salad from the website linked in the OP? PreK-12 Mathematics ascribes to the equal importance of the mathematics, cognitive demand, equitable access, agency, ownership and identity, and formative assessment as essential dimensions of the effective mathematics classroom (Baldinger p.5).
Sounds like an ESL writer
The 5 pillars of TRU do refer to "the mathematics" but whoever wrote the website text never stopped to think that they should put the components in quotes or otherwise rephrase to make sure the sentence is readable to someone who doesn't know the source material (i.e. "The mathematics department believes in Baldinger's 5 essential dimensions of the effective mathematics classroom: the mathematics; cognitive demand; equitable access; agency, ownership and identity; and formative assessment.") Or maybe someone was just rushing through an assignment and they just figured no one would ever read it!
