That would have been relevant information and a non-shady reason to wait. Since it sounds like the kid would be waiting just to see if they couldn't have gone elsewhere, that's not ethical. Withdrawls can absolutely impact other students that close to the release date. The ED application means you aren't going elsewhere. Do the right thing.[/quote]
