That's main reason why prices are increasing. [/quote] Long ago I raised livestock with my family. We sold animals locally (pigs and cattle). Technically you are selling the animal while it is alive even if selling to more than one person. The animal would be brought to town (there was a butcher and frozen storage run as a farm co-op). My brother recently retired, but for several years he told me he and his wife buy beef in the supermarket in the nearest bigger town because it's cheaper than using their own when the cost of raising the animal and paying for processing and then freezer storage for the amount of meat they end up with.[/quote]
