Sick. These people and institutions need to face criminal charges. This is criminal activity and the only way things will change is if there are appropriate consequences. Expulsions of individual students, temporary suspensions of fraternity chapters, and private civil lawsuits aren’t enough.
 I can tell you are just another hysterical GDI. And try actually reading the article. No one was waterboarded, and stripping down to underwear is just standard fare for the Greek system.
NP. People have died because their brothers have been too stupid, too mean, and/or just too drunk to do the right thing. I come from a Greek family but didn't join a sorority. A lot of bad stuff goes on at frat parties. On the other hand, my best friend met her husband at one. My sons and I have talked about ethics of drinking and they know they need to be moderate if they decide to drink, look out for others, and report/take kids to get medical care even if they might get in some trouble. Trouble is better than dead. Old-style hazing isn't necessary and it is dangerous. It's a legacy of a worse time. And everyone knows that people lie about it not happening. And that often it's the coolest frats that are the worst. And that the universities won't act unless situations are egregious. Because of traditions. My dad's frat has been kicked off of several campuses. Also my grandpa's. And my husband's. 3 different nationals. Hard to keep a straight face when you hear the lofty words about what these organizations allegedly stand for.
