It is not the easy path for 99% of students. It is very worthwhile and rewarding work. So long as DC wants to study engineering, and is diligent about attending class, going to office hours, and doing the work, then please support that. Also, please understand that most engineering programs do not have grade inflation. Last, I would recommend applying to engineering programs without intentional weed-out classes. Look at the 5-year graduation rate (students graduating with an engineering degree as a % of those who started engineering as a freshman). A program where 90+% graduate in 5 years is preferable for a student like OP's DC. [/quote]
