My son is an accounting major so I read up on it at times. Seems to be a shortage but on the other hand, new graduates are having a difficult time landing their first job. Main complaint is that the job openings are requiring 3-5 years of experience.
And why is that a problem? Shouldn't most new hires in Accounting have 3-5 years experience upon graduation or a job pre graduation? My brother is an accountant. My brother and I both do Accounting. My brother worked at an accounting firm all through college and they hired him upon graduation and I worked in Accounting at two firms and got hired a third firm a few months after graduation. Neither of us were looking for jobs as already had jobs it was just going from part time to full time at our firms. My brother at 28 was in charge of a 40 person Accounting department. By 28 he had a decade of work experience
