[/quote] Here is a prime example of why these schools (schools with high tuition and waitlists, not small, less wealthy schools) disfavor applicants with older siblings at their competitor schools. They know this applicant is likely to be admitted to the older sibs’ school and this family is more likely to send the younger child to that school. So B, C, and D didn’t offer admission. Had the applicant’s older sibs been at C, A wouldn’t have admitted them either. [/quote]
