That’s what I do. When I started I looked up what to do with used pens and was prepared to buy something to dispose of them properly. But I concluded you could safely cap them and throw in the regular trash. I don’t see why you WOULDNT do that [/quote]

Agreed, but the issue here is OP didn't look at the pen before injecting to see if it was used. That's the step to reinforce.

I look at the pen (window and exp. date) and turn it so I can see the window while I inject. I inject and then count to 6 after it's done. Mark the date in my box with a pencil I keep in there (yes in the fridge) and trash the old pen.[/quote]
