I'm an alum so my info may be a little dated. One thing that has not changed, every UD alum I've ever met has always loved their time on campus, is super friendly and loves talking about their time at Dayton. It doesn't matter if the person is 80, 60, 45, 23 or a current student. We will ask each other where we lived and if the basketball team had winning seasons. I haven't had to take advantage of alumni networking for jobs. But based on how friendly every alumni I've ever met is, I would imagine the alumni network is strong. UD is a basketball school - the arena is one of the best in college hoops and it always ranks in the top 20 in the country in attendance. When I was at school, the players were very visible on campus. I'm sure this has changed because of the drinking age (it was 19 when I was in school) but after big wins, the players would often show up at the bar. Both of my kids applied and were awarded very generous merit aid. Dayton's tuition is fixed for four years - so the amount you pay as a freshman is the same for the next three years. They decided not to attend UD becuase it was too far away - they wanted to be closer to home.
