At home, I have seen him really struggling to understand the most basic word problems. He is pretty reliable with reading CVC words or CCVC words but he is far away from trying to sound out and write an actual sentence (or even a combination of 2-3 words). His letter formation is also deteriorating -his teacher last year was very strict about that and his handwriting was fine. Neuropsych said no dyslexia, no dyscalculia.

DS HATES getting pulled out and is very concerned about appearing like everyone else. But I of course am nervous that without all the same support he had in K, he will slip behind rather than maintain his level of barely albeit still meeting grade expectations before starting the next grade. Do I just have to wait until his 2nd iready in Jan/Feb? And see if his percentiles are slipping? Or is there other data I can use to advocate for more services?[/quote]
