For 6 days - laundry makes a big difference - I forget if they replace your laundry detergant as a part of housekeeping - someone might be able to tell you.  
they have a small stackable washer dryer - but with children, we ran a load a day between ice cream melting and other stuff.

We used the Disney transportation (free to/from the airport when you stay on Disney Properties) - I know not everyone is a fan - but for us it worked.  Disney takes point on checking you in - getting your boarding passes etc when you leave.

On the boardwalk there is a lot of entertainment - jugglers.
