It probably changes each year depending on how many siblings are actually applying? Ask during tours and interviews at each school.
Can someone share successful stories of non sibling non VIP get in? Every tour we went there are people who already have kids in upper grades. Makes me feel a school like Sidwell or gds can fill their spots with just siblings two times over.
Our kid at GDS would be one, and there are others in their class starting in 6th who are non-VIP/non-sibling. But it's unlikely, given how much the 6th grade class expands and the need to not exceed the overall cap, that the school accepts more than 18-20 kids total for 6th grade, with the expectation (prayers, actually) that not all 18-20 enroll. Because if they all did, that would be a problem for the school. So it's a numbers game no matter what.
