My DS scored 237 in the Math MAP test, which is in the 99th percentile. He is currently in the full-time AAP program through principal placement, not community-based. Now that he’s in 4th grade, can I use this score to reapply for AAP? I’m not planning to include any work samples this time — would this score alone be enough? He got 83 in i-Ready reading for fall, which seems low for an AAP student. By the way, English is not his first language.
That seems like a good score (congrats) but I don't think that would be enough on its own, esp given the 83rd percentile on reading I-Ready. Why not put together work samples to shore up any concerns about LA? It shouldn't take that long. For reference, my child got 227 (99th) on MAPS and 99th on I-ready and is in f/t AAP, 3rd grade. You bet I busted my butt to put together the parent referral that got DC in. (Was not in pool at mid/high SES school.)
Thank you so much for your advice! That makes sense. I’ll definitely include some work samples to support the application.
Good luck!
