I am having an awful time trying to find a job after a bit of a break from working. As a 51 year old woman am I doomed? I am getting turned down from very low level paying jobs (admin) and feel like a loser. I’d love to get a job that isn’t sitting at a desk. Any recommendations would be appreciated. It doesn’t have to be high paying. I’ve got a masters in sociology I’ve never used. Thanks all
To be clear, you haven't worked since graduate school in your 20s? So 30 year gap? Obv something para-educational would be the way to go like an occupational therapist -- can you get certified? No regular job is going to hire you -- they are going to assume you are still stuck in the 90s regarding office functions and processes. Do you have good tech skills -- many SAHM are quite savvy with Google Docs and MS office as all of life has gone online? Play that up, perhaps you have some project you put together for a PTA?
