This whole grading policy is set up to fail and cause problems. It is impossible to implement with fidelity. There are too many variables that will make this trouble for all involved. How do absences factor into this policy? (does it matter if the absence was excused or unexcused). When does the parent inform the school that the absence was excused. All of those things will make it impossible for a teacher to keep up with. You want feedback on writing assignments, but can a teacher actually grade and provide feedback within that two week period. How many plannings periods did they lose because of covering classes or dealing with behavior issues. It is not the teachers fault. Don't blame them. If you want to complain, yes complain to admin. But not about the teacher, about the policy. Teachers are put in a position that they didn't want. What do you think is going to happen when a teacher follows the policy with fidelity. Students will fail. More students than last year. What do you think is going to happen then. Admin will question teachers as to why this is. Admin will ask teachers to give students 'grace', err on the side of the student. And how do you know that some students don't have accommodations for extra time? When they talk to students, they don't say to the whole class "Larla has an IEP and an extra-time accommodation, so her due date is this."
