DP.  I don’t make them because [b]the tortillas you can get in grocery stores around here suck [/b]and are basically an offense to the Mexican people.   The good burrito places like fish taco are somehow able to get decent tortillas.
Also it takes time to make stuff like carnitas and I don’t want to make all that just to officially have a burrito.

When I am home in Arizona I am more likely to make my own, since I can get decent tortillas.  But even then I still get tortillas out because the red chile or machaca is so good.  I hate it when people disrespect Mexican food and say it’s “so easy” to make at home.  Good Mexican food is really time consuming to make.

OP, around here I often get carnitas because it is the most flavorful that you can get around here.  So my typical order is just beans, rice, carnitas, guac and maybe something like guajillp sauce.

PS who remembers the burrito guy from downtown like 15-20 years ago that used to park on K street.  He was a recovering lawyer I think.  Burrito guy, we miss you!  [/quote]
