With our club we can barely handle 2 practices per week and all the weekend tournaments (about two per month). It's exhausting just to think that you can double that. There is no reason to train that hard unless you hope to play in college. My DD plays for fun and she knows that she has no chance to play in college (she is too short for this sport, plus she doesn't work that hard anyway). This is a way for her to stay active, make friends, while playing a sport that she enjoys. It doesn't make sense for us to spend so much time and money on club volleyball.
Then Libero nat/ travel team is def not for you! Def not for everyone. The travel and play schedule is a lot. They have some regional teams that travel less. Some people also want a WINNING team and fewer practices and fun and family time. You either start with a winning team in that case or hope other clubs have the luck of pulling together a winning roster and make magic happen. Libero nat is for sure for intensely devoted volleyball players.
