Because that would be the tail wagging the dog. If the FBI goes out of its way to dispel every rumor about a high profile case, then all they'd do is give press conferences saying "this totally unsubstantiated theory you saw on YouTube is not true." The best way to handle conspiracy theories is to ignore them while affirmatively releasing actual verified facts.

The shooting was two weeks ago. It does not actually makes sense that the public would have the full story at this point because there has not been time to actually track down every detail and verify it, and they shouldn't be releasing unverified details. Also, yes, as Jeff pointed out, they have to be careful about what the release at this stage because they are preparing for trial and they want to make sure their case is air tight and that jurors aren't completely ruined by tons of online speculation as they've released little details here and there. They need to pull the entire picture together first.

Candace Owens is exploiting your desire to know everything and know it immediately. She's filling the void. That doesn't make her wild conspiracy theories correct. It makes them conveniently available to you whereas the truth remains shrouded. But you aren't in charge of investigating this case. So you will have to actually wait while the paid investigators do their jobs, at a reasonable pace that moves at the speed of the justice system, not the tabloid press.[/quote]
