Neither spent much time on the essays, and I would say they are average writers. They didn't toot their horns over anything. Just talked about random things that they enjoy. We knew others whose children wrote essays about how they enjoy the academics (reading, science projects, etc) and that didn't go over well for them. So I am not sure what the readers are looking for, but our experience was that they are looking just to know your kids as 13 year olds. [/quote]
