Mucinex alone is a pretty safe bet for most people. Just remember to drink a LOT of water so your body can flush out the mucus. Sudafed has stimulant properties, and can make people anxious, increase blood pressure, cause insomnia, and even cause or exacerbate heart issues. It's usually best to take single-substance meds, so try to avoid things like "mucinex D" that has both drugs in it unless you have terrible difficulty swallowing pills. Sudafed tablets are tiny, and mucinex D is about the same size as standard mucinex, so a combo doesn't really save you much. [/quote]
