[/quote] Sorry — I didn’t see the report. Sounds like the officers did take the appropriate de escalation techniques. A very unfortunate situation and it sounds like the individual was mentally unstable. I stand by my post that taser response is usually the appropriate response to a mentaly unstable individual with a knife, rather than shooting first. I know these situations are traumatic for the LEO as well, so I’m holding space for them in my thoughts, as well as the victim and his family. [/quote]
