Anyone else alarmed by the number of shootings in Montgomery County recently? It seems like everyday I see an article with another shooting—this morning it was Twinbrook, and earlier this week it was Germantown, Gaithersburg, and Silver Spring. I’m basically a lifelong county resident (aside from stints elsewhere for college/grad school) and I don’t recall ever seeing so much violent, serious crime. I wish the news reports would always include names along with demographic data on age, race, etc. I vaguely recall that police departments tracked this info back in the day and fed it into a national database, but that tidbit comes from research I did back in the early 90s for a school project.
If you import and welcome the third world, there should be zero surprise they bring their culture with them. So glad I got out of MoCo. It was such an amazing place in the early 2000, but has gone downhill fast.
You got out too soon. Since the early 2000s, my property value has gone up by approximately 2.5X in Bethesda. Even back then, people were saying its best days were behind it, so I guess the naysayers never quit.
