Why don't you write a letter to the director of the school and ask that over the break as they are reviewing safety operating policies, they add in car safety.  Why don't you provide a quick checklist to help:
1.  Puffy jackets removed
2.  Straps clipped at armpits 
3.  etc.[/quote]
