I don't want anyone to know I post here, but I do project-based work, and I have a side business. I guess you could say it's a mail order company. I will be forming another company based on the project-based work because I see a niche, and I see the potential for more money. However, this will require a team.

I have a friend that does closed captioning from home. The captioning that is on the news and such. But that requires a skill (stenography)and schooling. She says that many people drop out because it's not as easy as it sounds to get the speed. And also, you have to have an extensive vocabulary.

I have another friend that does transcription. Anything and everything EXCEPT medical and legal. She says she makes above the norm because of her speed,
and because she has her own clients in addition to contracting with a few companies.

I know someone who does something with courts, but I don't quite understand what she is doing. But that is how she makes a living. I know a project manager that works from home. She manages projects and teams for startup companies.

Then there's the usual stuff- writers, editors, programmers, customer service. All that can be done at home.

There are some other unique things, but I don't necessarily want to call them out on here. But the point of my posting was to just give a different perspective.
