Sorry I still have a 2015 gas car[/quote] When your press down "hard" on the brake (for example slowing down at a traffic light, stop sign, and even stopping the car to shift into P or R), and lot of cars no longer idle, but "shut off" to conserve gas from the idle mode. The car switches from "shut off" and returns to idle mode once you lift your foot off the brake. So, yes, there are times when your car is constantly turning off/on again. I personally hate it bc i always worry my car won't turn back on like OP. Plus, I fear the wear/tear on the starter and draing the battery. There is a manual override for this idle shutoff feature.
