It's probably because they KNOW all MCPS devices will be compatible with the app they need. They may not have extra devices to issue to students or a limited amount.

Because the instructions from the College Board -- for months -- have been that you can use any number of devices, the school-issued computer being just one, on which to take the SAT test. They encouraged you to register and verify your information, and download the BlueBook software used to take the test, weeks ahead of the test date -- which we did. Now, 48 hours before the test, this weird notice about using an MCPS-issued computer comes through the College Board portal.

So we followed the specific directions, thanks. Now someone appears to be changing the directions at the last minute. We have a call into the College Board.[/quote]
