If he didn’t take compacted math (5/6) in fifth grade, it’s a bigger jump to PreAlgebra in 6th, but if he’s advanced in math and enjoys it or is interested in STEM generally, he should get to try it. If he’s not at all interested in accelerated math, drop PreAlgebra. He’ll still be able to take Calculus in high school even if he doesn’t take algebra until 8th grade.[/quote]
