Your school lets parents of walkers go inside? Ours never has.  Why don't you just walk in with her that day then and save the bus for the next day?  Bring your third grader and then go on to their classroom an hour later.[/quote]

This.  I would not stress about this too much.  The transition day isn’t required.  If you can’t pry your kindergartener off of you, I’d just do the third grade open house as the three of you and go home for the day.[/quote]
