I know that law school is fine at UDC and so is the accounting department. Finance worked out great for me. 
I had great math, finance, accounting, literature, and Spanish teacher there. I was lucky to have them at UDC. They were as good as my boarding school teachers in EU if not better.
I don't know about the community college part though.
I don't see why one wouldn't be able to get out of CC after one year, just like my kid in Nova, and move to Van Ness Campus.
All nostalgic now. I loved my time there. 
I did not care for Montgomery college as it was repeat of my high school, but lower quality.
