OP here. Yes you are correct, I am waiting for the refund. My apologies for the confusion! How do I get in touch with someone who can help me? I just keep getting automated lines. Also how do I ensure that we get interest? Do they automatically add it?[/quote]

Interest is automatic.
To find your members of congress, go to house.gov or senate.gov and look up who they are based on your state (senate) or zip code/address (house). Go to their website and it will have a page like "get help" or "help with a federal agency" or "constituent service." click on it and follow the directions--there will probably be a web form to fill out and a consent for the office to contact the IRS on your behalf.[/quote]
