It's much more common for private school kids to be redshirted, which pushes the entire age of the class upward (particularly for boys). So if you are transferring in with a boy who started K on time, he might be very young for the cohort and they might request that you have the child enter at their current grade, repeating a year, putting them in the middle of the age range, and earning themselves another year of tuition.[/quote]
