Anyone else get annoyed at this? I don’t work at a high-pressure/high-stakes company. I work in a fairly niche, boring, slow-moving industry, mostly working on long, dry, technical documents. Why do co-workers and managers do this?
There are two people in my office who do this. They are in their late fifties but otherwise entirely dissimilar. I have a cube that has a peninsula you walk around to get to "my" side where you can see my screen. There's a guest chair on the other side of the peninsula but these two people immediately walk right next to me and start talking. No pause, greeting, or "is this a good time", just all of a sudden they're two feet away talking a mile a minute while I'm still finishing the task I was working on. It's so frustrating.
