No it is NOT impossible to play D1 if you play ECNL or MLS Next. If you do what the above poster said, you are 50% to play D1 and almost a a shoe in to play D2 or D3.  But you are right that transfer portal and internationals are making it harder and they most definitely get the available scholarship money.[/quote]
