Like others suggested, lay a tarp down, and get a camp mattress pad. They have some small blowup/inflatable pads. I also suggest adding another between the ground and the camp pad. Shoes somehow get separated in our tent, it’s so frustrating looking for a single shoe in the middle of the night when going to the bathroom. It will help to keep them dry too.

We have these lanterns/flashlights and we love them! We each have our own and are so handy. I would bring a book, in case there is some downtime for you.

Get some extra battery packs. Dude wipes are handy if you feel like you need a quick clean up. We also each have a small desk fan that is powered by a USB cord. If it’s going to be HOT it’s a nice item to have. It doesn’t cool the whole tent but it keeps air circulating near your face. 
If you’re not a camper, have an “escape plan”.We did that the first few times we went camping. We would always plan for staying the max number of days with the understanding that we might need to leave early depending how prepared we were and how the kids were doing. We had to leave early one time because we weren’t prepared for the weather. 
But the kids could have stayed longer if we let them. Most kids love camping and just being outside with their friends.
