The Montgomery county post has me concerned. What are we seeing in Fairfax county in terms of lifeguards at morning swim practices? Ours doesn’t have a contracted lifeguard on duty until 10AM. But AM practices are nearly done at that point. Is this standard?
Coaches/anyone teaching swimming, even lessons needs to be a certified lifeguard. We do not have a lifeguard on duty/in the chair, but all of our coaches are lifeguards. This is true of club swimming as well- the coaches are the lifeguards.
