Exactly.

Regardless, what am I supposed to do about it? I'm not changing jobs unless I have to, not with this advanced degree. It would do me no good to waste the time using it that is open to me. I'm not going to get stirred up just because an OP is either delusional, or weirdly invested in making people feel shitty without offering anything remotely like an actionable point.

What this recent OMG AI!!! slate of screeds reads like is that there is a poster with a mental health issue or who isn't terribly bright, but who has fixated on this point. And now they're trying other make fetch happen.

I agree with all this - my job is highly susceptible to AI replacement in some ways but I'm twenty years in,  no point in pivoting to subsistence agriculture until everything comes crashing down! [/quote]
