My DD isn't a starter and when they send out polls for availability, I just don't want to volunteer to drive across state lines pay $10-$15 to watch the coaches' kids foul each other for ten minutes.  I very much liked the longer format.  When we played that format like all of the coaches' kids fouled out, we got to see some actual basketball.

I mean imagine if the NBA was changing the formats of the games.  OK everyone, we're not going to stop the clock or record fouls and by the way the game is half as long.  I'm sure someone is going to chime in with "Letting the kids play", but why the shorter format?
