PP is being ridiculous.  I live in the Detroit Metro.  I've barely heard of that school.  It's 70 miles from Detroit.  I Googled to find a comparison and Google says that's about the distance from Arlington VA to Kings Dominion.

We have a well-regarded local Detroit Catholic university called University of Detroit - Mercy.  I know two high-achieving students who are going there because it has small classes, is very affordable, and they expect to be top of their classes which will facilitate grad school.

Some parts of the country just get unwarranted negative feedback despite a pretty good quality of life.  It's just impossible to convince some people.

Pennsylvania is having far more issues and is perhaps more relevant, being closer to the DMV.[/quote]
