SYC’s U-13 and U-14 results this past week suggest they may be one of the best developmental clubs in the entire country. Arlington has historically been very strong and remains competitive, but can’t really compare to SYC given recent success.
For the 💯th time folks. Winning 🏆 DOES NOT equal development. SYC is the last place I would send my child for long-term development. Arlington, Achilles and Bethesda are all better than SYC in terms of a track record of development as well as my son’s direct experience with their training. I can’t think of one SYC alum currently in the pros while Bethesda Alumni Aaron Heard and Kevin Paredes are both in the Bundesliga and USMNT pools and Kristian Fletcher, another BSC alum, just returned from loan at Nottingham Forest to DCU and is also in the USMNT pool. SYC is where local kids win and their long-term talent dies. Their U Littles teams will probably destroy Arlington, Achilles and Bethesda this upcoming year which will make those parents happy. Pay attention in 5 years when puberty levels everything else out and those SYC players get passed and played around like mannequins.
