Trying to compare what (if any) summer packets your ES kid received this year. We are a former Title 1 ES still figuring out what to do without summer school. I was shocked that compacted math sent nothing hike for the summer. We didn’t even get a reading log for ELA.
This could be my school, or at least I teach at a similar one. I sent packets for winter and spring break because several kids (kindergarten) wanted them and were proud to show me when we came back. I didn't send anything for summer. The value of the packet was in staying connected over a short break. Summer is a time to enjoy and explore your world. I told families that the summer homework was to read every day, play outside, and have fun. You can duplicate those those math and ELA things on your own if you'd like. Teachers Pay Teachers has plenty of inexpensive worksheet bundles corresponding with specific Eureka modules. Do the public library summer reading challenge and log the minutes/books. Having it be something you take on with your kid is much more valuable than any printed up packet sent home to everyone.
