What about Lateef? He wants to do away with the vehicle property tax!
Lateef is a sleazy politician and you cannot trust anything he campaign on. He has been very supportive of putting more data centers in PWC even though most county residents don’t want more of them. He is now taking donations from Dominion energy, so don’t trust him to stand up to big tech or the utility companies. He also doesn’t care about actually doing his job as an elected representative, everything is a stepping stone to him. He filed the paperwork to run for lieutenant governor in December 2023, which was immediately after he was elected to his school board position in November 2023. Clearly he was planning on running for lieutenant governor while he was running for his school board position. He doesn’t care about PWC county schools and don’t expect him to care about protecting Virginia residents either.
Oh, the data centers are very unpopular, I’m surprised. But how is he a sleazy politician if he’s never been a politician at all? Like you said he’s only been on the School Board. Lots of elected officials use these positions as stepping stones so I won’t hold that against him.
He literally filed the paperwork to run for lieutenant governor in 2023, a month after he got elected. This is a 4 year position and he had no plans to actually take this job seriously. He was already preparing for his next campaign before he finished running for reelection at the school board position. He also used his position on the school board to encourage developers to donate to his political campaigns. The school system (at his behest) gives special treatment to his friends and donors. Anytime his developer friends want to build something they get special treatment and the school system makes statements say they are fine with the proposed development. The school system does not encourage the his developers friends and donors to provide any money to offset the impact on schools. However, other developers are treated differently and the school board will make statements opposing their project proposals or requesting substantial monetary contributions.
