Why in the world is the graduation so far away?! That's crazy!!!
Well, a long long time ago, when I graduated from Wilson, the graduation was held in the football field behind the school. It was hot. It was muggy. There were mosquitoes. And bleachers. I think graduates were limited to two tickets each — and I’m not sure what would have happened if it rained and everything had to be moved inside to the auditorium. Maybe it was 2 inside/outside tickets and two more for outside? In any event, families are often larger and more complicated these days, summers are hotter, and people are used to having air conditioning, seats with backs, and other creature comforts. There certainly are closer options. I’m not sure who arranges and pays for them though.
