Luckily since it’s only a max of 10% of their final grades, it really can’t change their class grade more than half a letter. If they are retaking the whole course because their 90.4 dropped to an 88.9, then I don’t know what to say.

You do have the right to look at the final. Schools have to keep them on hand for a year after they are given, so if you want to analyze it to see what your kid missed by all means ask.[/quote]

My son does terrible on finals. I think part of it is that he is so burnt out by the end of the year that he just can’t study effectively. He also has trouble remembering a full year of content at one time.  So, he works hard for 3.4/4
quarters of the school year so that his grades are high enough to absorb the drop at the end of the year.  [/quote]
