Most of the time, you are redistributing to others, and when you are the one who needs it, it will be redistributed to you. "I didn't have an automobile accident or fire this year, so why should I pay my premiums" kind of undermines the whole idea. I agree that people's premiums have doubled or tripled to more, and the whole thing feels like it's in a state of near-collapse, because unless a person is exceptionally wealthy, they are feeling tremendous strain. But isn't insurance by definition redistribution? [/quote]
