If you mean that OP fell for an internet hoax, just say so. But the story is that a tourist was rapidly detained by the police such that she was separated from her child, and the police at first would not listen to her pleas about the child being left behind.

Maybe this story is true, maybe it's not, but I HAVE lived and spent time in multiple capital cities of this world, and I can well believe that a stressed out police force would not listen to a detainee.

I believe that the cops didnt realize that there was a child involved. That makes sense and I'm sure thats a regular occurrence. But to believe that someone was arrested *for speaking Spanish,* you have to be a Grade A, prime cut, well marbled moron. [/quote]
