When confronted by antisemitism in everyday life how do you respond?
I live in DC and thankfully encounter very little of it. The tristate area is hit or miss right now, although I bet working class areas are better and parts of Long Island. But yes, it's hard to see the most Jewish city in the world (outside of Israel) become a hotbed of Jew hatred. In my work experience is where I have had a few unfortunate instances -- with colleagues. I have sadly had to just cut these people out of my network. It felt like a loss. I've also stopped going into very progressive spaces because the Jew hatred is strong (and no it's not just anti-Zionism, I'm talking conspiracy level stuff here). I have heard some crazy sh*t in those spaces. So that has been an adjustment. On the plus side, I have made new friends since October 7. I always tell myself this is a walk in the park compared to what my ancestors went through.
