DC in 6th grade - had a 262 in Fall, 264 in Winter and now 261 in Spring. No growth really and a drop. Is this normal or should I talk to the Math teacher?
Nice humble brag, PP. Your child is already in the 99% percentile with scores at the same level as my fifth grader. It likely means that they're not understanding higher end concepts that haven't been taught yet -- no surprise unless you're doing more advanced work outside of school (like my DD).
OP here. No, it wasn't a humble brag. I was worried that my kid did not learn anything this whole school year if they went down a few points. DC should have been in Algebra IMO but was stuck in AIM. DC did not do any outside Math besides what was taught in school. DC stopped doing Khan Academy online and I was upset that this was the result. Next year, DC will have Algebra in 7th grade. How can DC supplement outside school in 7th?
Hey Tiger Mom, just chill. Very few kids are doing Algebra in 6th. If you care so much because you’re clearly that type of parent, do your own research on how to get your child ahead through home enrichment. But stop worrying about a score that’s at 99% level for your grade.
