They don’t have an official maximum, but they don’t want, say, 300 kids from the same HS in the freshman class, even if every one of them is very qualified. They also want geographic diversity.

Adding to this, if you look at UVA admissions across the 3 comprehensive high schools in APS, the percent accepted is all around 26-27% of kids who applied across all three HSs.  That’s consistent year after year, give or take. So hard to believe there’s no quota/percentage they’re looking for from each  school. [/quote]
